Heritage Foods Denies Ghee Supply to Tirumala Temple and Threatens Legal Action

Heritage Foods has strongly denied allegations linking it to the controversial supply of ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) between 2014 and 2019. The company called the claims “baseless lies” and warned of legal action against those spreading defamatory information.

Response to Allegations from YSRCP Leaders

The company’s statement follows accusations made by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader B. Karunakar Reddy and others. These claims attempted to link Heritage Foods to Maharashtra’s Indapur Dairy, which has been involved in the ongoing ghee controversy.

Heritage Foods Chief Operating Officer, J. Samba Murthy, addressed the situation in an official statement:

“The false allegations claiming that Heritage Foods supplied ghee to TTD during 2014-2019 is a blatant lie and wholly defamatory. These claims are entirely politically motivated.”

Clarification on Business Ties with Indapur Dairy

Heritage Foods clarified its relationship with Indapur Dairy to clear up any confusion. While the two companies have a business connection, it is limited in scope:

  • Independent Entities: Indapur Dairy is an independent company with no ownership or management ties to Heritage Foods.
  • Specific Contracts: Heritage uses Indapur Dairy for contract manufacturing of paneer, cheese, skimmed milk powder, and UHT milk.
  • No Ghee Contract: The company explicitly stated it has “never had any contract” to supply ghee to the Tirumala temple.

Mr. Murthy also dismissed claims that Heritage formed a “syndicate” with five other dairies to supply ghee, calling the accusation a “total lie.”

Heritage Foods to Pursue Defamation Case

With 33 years of experience in the dairy sector, Heritage Foods emphasized its commitment to food safety and its ISO 22001 certification. The company is now preparing to take the matter to court.

“We will be initiating a defamation case against every individual and organization involved in maligning our company,” Murthy confirmed. Heritage Foods maintains that these malicious claims were designed to damage its reputation and will hold those responsible accountable.
