PM Modi Approves PM RAHAT Scheme: Cashless Medical Help for Accident Victims
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the PM RAHAT Scheme. This was his first major decision after inaugurating the new Seva Teerth complex, which now houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council, and the Cabinet Secretariat.
Free Treatment for Accident Victims
Under the PM RAHAT initiative, people injured in accidents will receive cashless medical treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh. The goal of this scheme is to ensure that no one loses their life simply because they cannot afford immediate medical care during an emergency.
Boosting Rural Income and Agriculture
In addition to healthcare, the Prime Minister announced two other significant updates to support the economy:
- Lakhpati Didi Scheme: The government has doubled its goal for this program. It now aims to help 6 crore women in rural areas become “Lakhpati Didis” by increasing their annual income.
- Agriculture Infrastructure Fund: To better support farmers, the budget for this fund has been doubled from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore.
A New Center for Governance
The decisions were made at the newly opened Seva Teerth complex. This area includes Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2, which house several important ministries, such as:
- Finance and Defence
- Health & Family Welfare
- Education and Culture
- Agriculture & Farmers Welfare
- Law & Justice and Information & Broadcasting
According to a statement from the PMO, the opening of this complex is a major step forward for India’s government. It reflects the Prime Minister’s goal of creating a modern, efficient, and citizen-friendly system that focuses on the needs of the people.
