Delhi Education Department Launches New Online Portal for School Fee Complaints

The Delhi Education Department has overhauled its official website, introducing a major feature for parents: a dedicated section for the Fee Review Committee. This new tool allows parents to submit complaints about school fee hikes directly online.

In the past, fee disputes followed a frustrating pattern. Parents would receive a notice, discuss it in WhatsApp groups, visit the school, and exchange endless letters. Sometimes, these issues even led to long legal battles. This new portal aims to change that.

Who is on the Fee Review Committee?

The committee responsible for handling these grievances is led by retired Justice Anil Dev Singh. Other key members include CA J S Kochar and R K Sharma, a former additional director of education.

The updated website makes it much easier to seek help. Parents can now:

  • File complaints online.
  • Track the status of their submissions.
  • Email the committee chair directly through the portal.

The goal is to turn a chaotic process into a manageable, transparent system. Parents who believe a school has raised fees unfairly or without permission can use the “Feedback on School Fee Increases” form. This process follows the Delhi School Education Rules, 2025.

Anonymous Feedback to Protect Students

A vital feature of the new website is the option to provide feedback anonymously. Many parents worry that complaining directly to a school might result in their child being targeted. The anonymity feature is designed to remove this fear and encourage honest reporting.

Improving Accountability in Government Schools

The website update covers more than just fees. It now includes a daily attendance section for all 1,086 government schools in Delhi. Every institution is required to upload attendance data every day.

Early reports show that most schools are already sharing this information. While this has the potential to improve accountability, its success depends on whether the data is accurate and used effectively by officials.

Study Materials for Classes 3 to 12

For students, the platform also serves as a digital learning hub. It offers a variety of resources for students in Classes 3 to 12, including:

  • Question banks and practice tests.
  • Workbooks and mental math resources.
  • Study materials for the CUET exam.
