Gurugram Based Company Launches Doorstep Delivery Using Drones and AI
A logistics company based in Gurugram has started a new doorstep delivery service using drones and AI-powered robots, according to a report by Infra Economic Times. The project, launched by Skye Air Mobility, combines aerial drones with automated ground systems to handle the final stage of the delivery process.
Skye Air has already begun these operations in Gurugram. In this model, drones transport packages to specific delivery points. Once they arrive, AI enabled systems take over to finish the journey. The company says this approach improves speed, reduces carbon emissions, and automates the entire delivery process directly to the consumer’s home.
The official announcement was made at the AI Impact Summit 2026.
Proven Success in Drone Logistics
Speaking at the summit, Ankit Kumar, Founder and CEO of Skye Air Mobility, shared that the company has been developing drone based logistics for several years.
He noted that Skye Air has successfully completed nearly 3.6 million drone deliveries over the last two and a half years. According to the company, these operations have saved more than 1,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Kumar explained that the firm has now linked its drone system, known as Skye Port, with physical AI infrastructure to allow for fully automated deliveries.
Partnerships with International Organizations
As part of its growth strategy, Skye Air has partnered with international companies to strengthen its delivery network.
One major collaboration is with Arrive AI, a U.S. based firm listed on NASDAQ. Through this partnership, “Arrive Point” smart mailboxes are being installed in residential areas and office complexes. Drones can deliver packages directly into these smart mailboxes without any human help.
Skye Air has also teamed up with another U.S. company, Autonomy. This firm developed an autonomous rover a small robot that picks up packages from the delivery point and carries them to the customer’s door. Customers simply enter a one time password (OTP) to collect their parcel, making the delivery completely automatic.
Future Expansion Plans
Ankit Kumar told news agencies that Gurugram will serve as the primary testing ground for this project.
The company plans to expand the service across Gurugram before moving into other parts of India. Skye Air also intends to bring this delivery model to international markets in the future. According to the company, India is the first country to implement an integrated drone and AI based delivery system on such a large scale.
