Ceigall India Secures ₹1,700 Crore Solar and Battery Storage Project
Ceigall India Ltd. has announced a major win in the renewable energy sector. On Tuesday, the company shared that it secured a 220 MW solar project from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd. The deal, valued at approximately ₹1,700 crore (including GST), also includes an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS).
The contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process where companies compete based on the power rates (tariffs) they offer.
Project Details and Location
Ceigall India received the official Letter of Award (LOA) on February 9, 2026. The project, known as Unit 1, will be located at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
Key financial and operational details include:
- Tariff Rate: ₹2.70 per kWh.
- Construction Timeline: 24 months.
- Operational Period: 25 years.
Boosting Grid Stability with Battery Storage
This project is more than just a solar farm. By including a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), the facility can store extra energy and release it when demand is highest. This helps keep the power grid stable and ensures that renewable energy is available even when the sun isn’t shining.
The Morena Solar Park is a vital part of Madhya Pradesh’s green energy plans. It plays a significant role in helping India meet its long-term goals for clean energy and reducing carbon emissions.
A Step Forward for Ceigall India
Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ceigall India, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. He noted that this win strengthens the company’s position in the clean energy market. He also reaffirmed their commitment to completing the project efficiently to support India’s shift toward sustainable power.
