Infosys and Anthropic Partner to Drive Enterprise AI with Claude

Infosys Ltd. has announced a new partnership with Anthropic, the creator of Claude AI. The two companies will work together to develop and launch advanced artificial intelligence systems for large businesses. They will focus first on highly regulated industries, starting with telecommunications.

Integrating Claude with Infosys Topaz

As part of this agreement, Anthropic’s Claude models—including the specialized tool Claude Code—will be integrated into Infosys Topaz. This combination aims to help businesses:

  • Automate complex daily tasks.
  • Speed up software development.
  • Adopt AI safely within corporate guidelines.

Launching the Anthropic Centre of Excellence

The partnership includes the creation of a dedicated Anthropic Centre of Excellence for the telecom industry. Here, the companies will build “AI agents” designed for specific tasks like managing networks and improving customer service. While the initial focus is on telecommunications, the project will eventually expand to financial services, manufacturing, and software development.

Advancing Agentic AI for Business

A major goal of this deal is to develop agentic AI. Unlike standard AI that answers single questions, agentic AI can perform multi-step tasks on its own. These systems will be used to manage complex roles such as:

  • Processing insurance claims.
  • Reviewing legal compliance and risk.
  • Generating and testing software code.

Leadership Insights

“AI is not just changing business; it is redefining how industries innovate,” said Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys. He noted that the collaboration is a strategic move to help organizations become more intelligent, resilient, and responsible.

Dario Amodei, CEO and Co-founder of Anthropic, highlighted the importance of industry knowledge. “There is a big gap between an AI demo and a model that works in a regulated industry,” Amodei said. He explained that Infosys provides the deep expertise needed to make Claude effective in sectors like finance and manufacturing.

Market Impact

Following the announcement, Infosys shares rose more than 3%, making it one of the top performers on the Nifty index this Tuesday. Financial experts continue to view the company as a leader in the Indian IT sector’s shift toward AI-driven growth.
