Elon Musk-backed AI company xAI has launched Grok Imagine 1.0, its biggest upgrade yet in AI-generated video and audio. The new version lets users create longer videos with better resolution and improved sound quality.
The latest update allows users to generate videos up to 10 seconds long at 720p resolution. It also brings major improvements in audio, including expressive character voices and background music.
“Introducing Grok Imagine 1.0, our biggest leap yet. 1.0 unlocks 10-second videos, 720p resolution, and dramatically better audio. Imagine has generated 1.245 billion videos in the last 30 days alone,” xAI said in a post on its official X handle.
Elon Musk reshared the announcement on social media, noting that Grok Imagine 1.0 is “now in wide release.”
Grok Imagine 1.0: What to Expect
Grok Imagine 1.0 takes AI beyond text, offering more immersive multimedia experiences. The update includes several key improvements designed to enhance user creativity.
Videos can now run up to 10 seconds at 720p, providing sharper detail and smoother motion compared with earlier versions.
“Experience stories that unfold fully. Sharper detail and smoother motion that draws you deeper into the scene. Videos are now longer and higher resolution,” xAI said.
Audio capabilities have also been upgraded. Users can now add expressive voices for characters and immersive background music that matches the scene.
“We’ve dramatically improved audio,” xAI said, adding that characters can now speak with emotion, and music can sync seamlessly with video.
The new model also shows a major improvement in prompt understanding. Grok Imagine 1.0 better interprets user instructions and follow-up prompts, allowing users to adjust scenes without starting over. This makes it easier to bring creative projects to life.
xAI says Grok Imagine 1.0 is ideal for daily fun content, letting users animate old family photos or create memes and clips on various topics.
“The Grok Imagine API model tops the Artificial Analysis benchmarks, highlighting the exceptional quality behind the core model powering Imagine 1.0,” xAI added.
