Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Criticizes Congress Over AI Summit Protests

Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi criticized the Congress party on Saturday following a protest by its youth wing at the India AI Impact Summit. Naqvi stated that the party has a history of “criminal acts” and struggles to accept that a leader from a humble background is now the Prime Minister.

Speaking to reporters, Naqvi urged the Congress to stop trying to turn “democracy into a Disneyland of dynasty.” He argued that the party’s history of “conspiracies” is a deliberate choice rather than a coincidence.

A Pattern of Protests

Naqvi highlighted several instances where he believes the Congress party attempted to overshadow major national events:

  • 2015 India-Africa Forum Summit: While leaders from 54 African countries were visiting, Naqvi claimed the Congress supported an “award returning” campaign. He said they spread fear about intolerance and claims that democracy was under threat.
  • 2020 US Presidential Visit: During the visit of the US President, Naqvi noted the Shaheen Bagh protests and anti India slogans at JNU. He stated these were used to create a false narrative that minority citizenship was at risk.
  • G-20 Summit: Naqvi alleged that while India hosted the G-20 under the theme of “One World, One Family,” Rahul Gandhi spread propaganda to damage the reputation of India’s Constitution and democracy.

Naqvi added that while the world sees Prime Minister Narendra Modi proving that “democracy can deliver,” the Congress remains focused on claiming there is a “danger to democracy.”

Support for PM Modi’s Leadership

Naqvi asserted that the Congress still cannot accept that a person from a poor family—without “feudal support” is successfully leading the country. He noted that the Prime Minister is now in his third consecutive term, focusing on good governance and inclusive empowerment.

He praised PM Modi for strengthening India’s dignity and pride on the global stage.

Context of the Protest

These remarks follow a dramatic incident on Friday at Bharat Mandapam, the venue for the AI Impact Summit. A group of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers held a brief “shirtless” protest in the exhibition hall. They shouted slogans against the Prime Minister before security personnel removed them from the building.
