IndusInd Bank Expands Gold Loan Services to 500 Branches

Private sector lender IndusInd Bank announced on Friday that it has nearly doubled the number of branches offering gold loans, bringing the total to 500.

Making Secured Credit More Accessible

By adding 245 new branches to its gold loan network, the bank aims to make secured credit more accessible, convenient, and reliable. This expansion comes as lenders across India increase their focus on gold loans a sector considered highly secure, especially as gold prices continue to rise.

While recent price volatility has raised some questions about the industry’s rapid growth, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently stated that it does not see any cause for concern regarding these portfolios.

Quick Liquidity for Diverse Customers

According to the bank’s statement, there is high demand for gold loans from households, small traders, and customers in the agricultural sector. These groups often rely on their gold holdings for fast access to cash.

To meet this demand, IndusInd Bank offers:

  • Instant Disbursement: Loans of up to ₹1 crore.
  • Simple Process: Minimal documentation and competitive interest rates.
  • Flexibility: Various tenure options to suit different needs.

Dedicated Services and Security

To ensure a smooth customer experience, each of the 500 branches now features a dedicated gold loan desk. Customers can feel secure knowing their gold collateral is stored safely by the bank.

“This move will strengthen the Bank’s retail lending portfolio,” said Soumitra Sen, Head of Consumer Banking at IndusInd Bank. This strategic expansion ensures that more customers can leverage their assets for immediate financial support.
