India Issues Urgent Safety Advisory Following US-Israel Strikes on Iran

The Indian government has issued a high-level advisory for its citizens in the Middle East after the United States and Israel launched joint military strikes against Iran on Saturday, February 28, 2026. These strikes follow weeks of rising tensions and warnings in the region.

Safety Instructions for Indians in Israel

The Embassy of India in Israel has urged all Indian nationals to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant at all times. Citizens are strongly advised to follow these safety measures:

  • Follow Official Guidance: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and instructions issued by the Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command.
  • Stay Alert: Maintain a high level of awareness regarding your surroundings and local security updates.

Situation Update from Iran

In Tehran, Iran’s state-run news channel, IRINN, confirmed that strikes took place across the capital. Israel has described the operation as a “pre-emptive attack.”

Local reports noted the following developments in Tehran:

  • Visible Impact: Large plumes of smoke were seen, and loud explosions were heard in several parts of the city.
  • Broadcast Disruptions: The state broadcaster experienced brief audio issues early in the morning before resuming regular programming.
  • Local Response: Following the strikes, state media aired footage of pro government rallies and archived speeches from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calling for national unity.

The Indian government continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of its nationals living and working in the affected areas.
