Six courts in Gujarat received bomb threats by email on Tuesday. Authorities immediately carried out detailed searches, officials said.
So far, nothing suspicious has been found.
The threat emails were sent to courts in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Valsad, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, and Mehsana.
Bomb Threat at Vadodara District Court
An email sent to the Vadodara district court claimed that 19 bombs had been placed inside the premises, a police official said.
The email warned that the bombs would explode by lunchtime. The sender also criticized a court judgment from Tamil Nadu.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 2, Manjita Vanzara, said that the Vadodara Special Operations Group (SOG), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Dog Squad, local police, and cyber experts reached the court around 11 am.
Officials sealed off the court premises and conducted a thorough search. Nothing suspicious was found.
Valsad Court Evacuated After IED Threat
In Valsad, authorities evacuated 19 courtrooms at the district court after receiving an email. The message claimed that 19 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) had been planted and would explode before afternoon namaz.
Valsad Superintendent of Police Yuvrajsinh Jadeja confirmed that the court complex was searched carefully. No suspicious items were found.
Searches in Other Gujarat Courts
District courts in Rajkot, Gandhinagar, and Ahmedabad were also evacuated on Tuesday morning after receiving similar threat emails.
Officials conducted full searches at all locations. Nothing suspicious was discovered.
Later in the afternoon, the Mehsana district court received a bomb threat email and was evacuated as a precaution.
Mehsana Superintendent of Police Himanshu Solanki said that teams from the BDDS, Dog Squad, and local police carried out detailed checks. So far, no suspicious objects have been found.
Bomb Threats to Schools in Ahmedabad and Vadodara
On Monday, 34 schools in Ahmedabad and Vadodara also received bomb threat emails.
Authorities evacuated all campuses as a safety measure. After thorough searches, officials confirmed that the threats were hoaxes.
Seventeen schools in Ahmedabad and seventeen in Vadodara were affected, but no suspicious items were found at any location.
