India to Launch “Create in India” Mission for Future Jobs
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Monday that the government will soon launch the ‘Create in India’ Mission. This new initiative will focus on generating employment and preparing the workforce for future industries.
Minister Vaishnaw shared these details during a discussion with Charles Rivkin, the CEO and Chairman of the Motion Picture Association, at the India AI Impact Summit.
Building a Future-Ready Talent Pipeline
During the event, Vaishnaw highlighted how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already changing the job market. He noted that AI adoption, along with specialized training and upskilling programs, is creating a massive “talent pipeline” that will lead to more career opportunities.
What is the “Create in India” Mission?
The upcoming mission aims to go beyond natural economic growth by focusing on industry-specific needs. According to the Minister, the initiative will:
- Strengthen existing industries: Enhancing India’s current capabilities to compete globally.
- Global Platform: Positioning India as the world’s most preferred destination for creative and technical projects.
- Future Skills: Ensuring the workforce is trained and ready for the demands of the next generation of technology.
“The mission will be very industry, employment, and future-oriented,” Vaishnaw stated. “It will look at strengthening what we have, making sure we become the most preferred platform for the world, and creating a future-ready talent pipeline.”
