Hrithik Roshan Calls Mulund Metro Collapse “Heartbreaking,” Urges Stronger Safety Measures
Actor Hrithik Roshan has expressed deep sorrow over the fatal Mumbai Metro construction accident in Mulund. He called the incident “heartbreaking and traumatic” and urged authorities to enforce stricter safety measures across all ongoing infrastructure projects in the city.
Mulund Metro Line 4 Accident: What Happened
The accident occurred around 12:15 pm on February 14 on LBS Road near the Johnson & Johnson junction. A parapet segment from the under-construction Metro Line 4 fell onto vehicles below.
An autorickshaw was crushed in the impact. Ramdhan Yadav, who had come to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh just a week earlier, lost his life. Three others were injured, and one of them is reported to be in critical condition.
Fire brigade teams and local authorities quickly reached the spot. They cleared the debris and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Hrithik Roshan Reacts to the Mumbai Metro Collapse
Sharing a video of the incident on social media, Hrithik Roshan offered his condolences to the victim’s family. He also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
While he appreciated the swift action taken by authorities to fix responsibility, he stressed that prevention should be the top priority. With large-scale development happening across Mumbai’s busiest areas, he said safety must not be ignored.
Roshan highlighted that the safety of construction workers and daily commuters is of utmost importance. He expressed hope that strict safety rules and proper monitoring would be enforced to prevent such tragedies in the future.
Arrests and Investigation Underway
Police have arrested five officials connected to contractor firms Milan Road Buildtech and DB Hill LBG under BNS Section 105. Several agencies have launched investigations to find out whether there were structural faults, negligence, or violations of safety norms at the site.
Government Announces Compensation and Safety Review
Following the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the victim’s family.
Civic authorities have also started a wider review of safety practices at Metro construction sites across the city. The aim is to ensure better monitoring and stricter compliance with safety standards.
